Postpartum Doula Services
”It is so easy to close down to risk, to protect ourselves against change and growth. But no baby bird emerges without first destroying the perfect egg sheltering it. We must risk being raw and fresh and awkward. For without such openness, life will not penetrate us anew. Unless we are open, we will not be filled.” –Patricia Monaghan
Adding a new baby to your family can be the beginning of a joyful, rewarding, and bliss-filled time for you and those you love.
It can also be very challenging and certainly life-changing. There is always a period of adjustment as the mother and her partner recover from the birth and prepare for their new roles as parents.
As a postpartum doula, I consider it an honour to assist families during this time of transition. I can offer emotional support as well as practical help while offering a safe place of nonjudgmental acceptance. My role as a postpartum doula is constantly changing to meet the needs of the families I serve, moment to moment. My goal is to be fully present in every moment and to adapt my role as it best suits each family, while working towards assisting them in feeling confident in their own intuitive and instinctive abilities as parents.
I am available to answer questions of a general nature (while not taking place of any medical professional) and offer assistance and timely referrals as needed.
All Postpartum services include 1-2 consultations before baby is born to determine your family’s needs. I am also available for phone consultation and support when I am away from your home
FEE: $30/hour or $325 for 12-hour blocks and $600 for 24 hour blocks.
